Opening for Paul van Dyk at Public Works, San Francisco

Years before I started DJing, I discovered Paul van Dyk through “Let Go.” That track stayed with me. When I began DJing in 2019, I explored his music further and developed a deeper appreciation for his sound.

On March 10, 2023, I got to meet him in person and share the stage at Public Works in San Francisco, opening the night after winning the TranceFamily SF DJ mix competition.

My set started at 9 PM. By the middle of it, the room was already pretty full. Watching the dance floor fill up while playing the opening set made an already special night even better.

Paul brought his VENTURE X project to Public Works. One thing I love about him is how he keeps exploring new sounds and knows how to surprise an audience. Experiencing that in person, after opening the same night, meant a lot to me.

From discovering “Let Go” to meeting the artist behind it and sharing a stage, this was a milestone I’ll always remember.

Thank you to TranceFamily SF for the opportunity, and to everyone who came early and shared the dance floor with me.
